With Great Power Comes Great Bullshit

Dear Michael Arrington,

You apparently “forgot” to come to Blogworld. Thats cool, no worries, its easy to forget to come to a conference right? WRONG. You were not just an attendee coming to peruse the booths and chat with fellow internet people. No, that would have been forgivable. You were scheduled for two one hour panel discussions.

Its understandable though. You’re a busy man who realized he couldn’t fit it in his schedule so you politely gave some notice. Haha, wrong again. The only notice you gave was on the phone when Blogworld called you and asked “Where the hell are you?”. (Although I doubt they said that because I’m sure even in defeat they were kissing your ass).

This bothers me.

It seems that when someone becomes successful they have a choice of two paths: Humble and Dick. Mr. Arrington, I think you know which one applies to you.

I had high hopes for you too. Maybe you would be cool like Laporte, but no, you “forgot” to come to Blogworld. You know, I have two things to say to that.
• First, you didn’t forget, you just didn’t want to go. You must have this crazy idea that you are better then the rest of us so instead of being good about it you lied. Why not just bite the bullet and tell us the truth?  You sir, are a pussy.
• Second, there were a ton of up and coming companies at Blogworld. You missed out on some valuable networking. I have no pity.

I will continue to read Techcrunch occasionally but I just want you to know. When I meet you I will not be excited or awestruck. For I am not and will never be like you. I will take the Humble road.
