Ustream.TV: New partnership and New CEO!

Link to our copy of the two press releases.

Ustream.TV is going completely nuts right now! Partnership with chat site Meebo.com last week, iJustine ditches Justin.tv to come to Ustream.TV, and now a new partnership with Bebo.com and a new CEO!

Holy crap they are doing something right.

Now the Meebo partnership was one thing, but Bebo? Bebo is currently ranked 103 according to Alexa’s ranking and around 20 million users, so they are a very important partner.

The one thing I really enjoy and respect about Ustream is their staff. As an example, Brad Hunstable (co-founder) called Mason from thisismason (popular ustream show) and woke him up to let him know that it would be good for his show if he was on today.

Now, I know that the more viewers Mason gets the more viewers Ustream.TV gets but still, very thoughtful and friendly on Brad’s part. He actually called Mason during his show and said a few things:

“[We have partnered with Bebo.com] so that Ustreamers can get their content syndicated on Bebo. I figure one of my big jobs as the ustream guy is to get you more views. Make sure you don’t go without a sandwich.”

Mason’s goal is to get a million friends because “a man with a million friends will never go without a proverbial sandwich”. Brad also went on to mention something else…

“And I’ll say it on your show first, we have a major major release coming out in December…lot of new features…improvements all around…also a couple big deals coming out in the next few weeks.”

Hmm…

Chuck Wallace, their new CEO, couldn’t have come at a better time. Just look at this quote from the press release “In Just Seven Months, Ustream Boasts over 80,000 Broadcasters and Nearly One Million Unique Viewer Hours per Month Delivered Through the Online Interactive Broadcasting Platform”

All this and they don’t have a Wikipedia page? Come on guys, somebody click here and start typing.

“He actually called Mason during his show and said a few things”

It’s actually more of a sociological experiment rather than a show, really.

I find it funny that out of the 8 posts to your blog 3 of them are filler and 4 of them are posts praising Ustream. Seems to me you are some sort of Ustream fanboy.

Quit posting trash to digg and if you’re going to blog about something, make sure that your information is correct. Justine said herself -”I didn’t say I was leaving jtv” on your blog post about her ditching justin.tv yet you continue to post garbage. If you like ustream that’s fine, all I’m saying it don’t post false information and definitely don’t do it after the person you posted the false information about in the first place tells you that it’s false.

JTV vs Ustream… Ok, so you like ustream.. I personally enjoy JTV and the reason is that I’ve been given the opportunity to watch a startup grow from a group of guys who were struggling to get the technology working to a massive site with over 8000 users. It’s not some corporate site that’s built and run by web developers who could care less about what the site they’re building does, it’s just another job for them. People dis Justin for not being on camera anymore, how many times have you seen anyone from Ustream, Stickam or Broadcast.com on a camera?..

Point is, get your facts straight before posting your garbage on digg.
